Ingredients

400g Sirloin steak

2 Garlic cloves, minced

8 Butter Lettuce leaves

100g Cherry Tomatoes, halved

1/4 Red Onion, Thinly sliced

1/2 Avocado, sliced


Chimichurri Sauce

10g Parsley, finely chopped

10ml Red wine vinegar

25ml Olive oil

1 Shallot, minced

1 tsp Red Chili flakes

1 tsp Paprika


Instructions

Rub the steak with olive oil, salt and black pepper. Let it marinate at room temperature from 15-20 minutes


In a bowl, combine the chimichurri sauce's ingredients with 1 minced garlic cloves and season with salt and pepper.


Heat up a grill/ grill pan over medium- high heat with some oil and the remaining garlic. Cook the steak for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Let rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.


Arrange the washed butter lettuce leaves on a platter and top each one with steak slice, cherry tomatoes halves, red onion slices, and avocado slices.


Drizzle the chimichurri sauce over the dish and serve

What would be great alternatives to butter lettuce?

Any refreshing salad vegetables that can form a boat shape for food to sit neatly would be ideal. Ie: Iceberg lettuce .


What meat cut would you recommend other than sirloin?

You could go for fillet mignon, beef tenderloin or ribeye.
